I received an email today with a link to a great article about my life…or so it felt like it was about my life…the part of life that’s got me running in circles sometimes.
Right now I’d love to be able to just stop, drop and roll to avoid all the “fires” I feel around me. Don’t get me wrong. Life is really great. I’m really happy with how things are going. When I look at my wheel of life and all the aspects…family, friends, work, home, environment, finances, etc…they all look pretty good.
AND I’m aware that right now…these past couple of months…with a move and so much goodness all around me…I’m feeling pulled. Pulled in too many different directions. I’m not getting the down time I need to get a few things done and just unwind a bit. Even when I have some down time, I have that to-do list going in the back of my mind…the one I just want to put away in a little box sometimes and forget about so it doesn’t always feel like down time to me. Do you know what I mean?
So today, after reading the article, I’m going to commit to:
- Checking my email a little less frequently to increase productivity.
- Not multi-tasking (we talked about this in our last ecourse through Be Inspired U and it’s a tough one to do all the time for most of us).
- Spending time every day in quiet meditation…even if it’s only a few minutes. No interruptions…no excuses.
And on a serious note, I feel like I’m on fire, in a good way, and want to do everything in my power to keep it flowing. I’d just like to add in a little more “me” time in my daily routine. I think that would be perfect!
Thanks, Linda. I’ve take a few classes and did enjoy it quite a bit. I find yoga to be a better fit for whatever reason but don’t seem to make that a priority either. I feel my life force energy increasing with the onset of spring and feel when I return from my vacation something else will shift in a very positive way…maybe this will be it…more time for meditation, not just 5 or 10 or 15 minutes a day 🙂
Down time. You’re right – got to have down time. I, too, can get overwhelmed by good stuff. Have you tried T’ai Chi Chih? That’s the moving meditation that I do and Minnesota is a hotbed of TCC activity. That’s what I was doing last summer in St. Cloud – a TCC conference put on by the MN TCC group. What I like about it is that it’s calming, but also gives me energy, it’s moving and it’s easy to do and always available since it doesn’t require any special equipment. Can take from 5 – 45 mins, depending. There’s info at taichichih.org. Just click on Teachers, find a teacher and there’s a whole list of teachers in your area. Who knows? Might even be someone you already know. 🙂
