- 1 package rice sticks (rice noodles)
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- ½ tbsp accent seasoning
- 4 tbsp olive oil
- About ½ cup finely chopped carrots (more or less for your taste)
- Soak noodles in really hot water for 10 minutes...like tap water that's fully heated up.
- While that's soaking, chop the carrots and set aside.
- Also mix the soy sauce and accent together in a small bowl.
- Heat up a wok or large frying pan on the stove. When it starts to smoke add 2 tbsp of the olive oil to the pan.
- When the noodles are done soaking, drain them and pat dry.
- Put noodles in a bowl. Add remaining 2 tbsp olive oil and mix up. Add soy sauce and seasoning and mix up so noodles are evenly colored. Add carrots and mix up.
- Put complete mixture in frying pan/wok. Add a tbsp or 2 of water and cover. Let steam for 30 seconds. Flip over and cook until they are hot all the way through...doesn't take long. Enjoy!
Ok, questions: should the dialing completely soften the noodles? How hot should the pan be once oil and then noodle mixture is added?
Hi Sarah,
The soaking does completely soften the noodles. I didn’t really check how hot my pan was but most recipes/cooks will tell you to wait until you get a sizzle before putting anything in so let it warm up a bit first. Keep in mind that you’ll want to keep a very close eye on it and you may find yourself needing to add more oil to keep the noodles from burning as the liquid/oil get soaked up. If you had these at LC before they changed their recipe, you may remember they were a bit greasy. Use your own judgement and taste on how you want them done. I don’t like them overly greasy but I don’t want them to burn either.
I’ve never tried these. They sure look simple enough! Maybe worth a try!
