Making a vision board is not only creative fun, but is a way to manifest all of your hearts desires, goals, aspirations; they are a tool for mapping your future. When you can look at your vision, it is a reminder to work toward it each day.

Anyone can make a vision board-the tricky part is to truly focus on what you want putting aside what you think others would like. Tapping into your inner self is the goal to making a vision board.

What ever your heart desires is the key. It could be you are trying to be a stronger, healthier person, you want to start a new business, you may want to travel more, or lose weight. What ever it is you truly want is the key to this creation.

Next is the part where you get to really get creative. You have to find things that represent this. Your medium can be anything, or a combination of things. Below is a list of ideas to get you started in your search.

  • Material of different textures
  • Magazines
  • Paints
  • Markers
  • Pencils
  • Found objects
  • Shells
  • Rocks
  • Leaves
  • Feathers
  • Stickers

I like to let the items find me. I like to just be mindful of what catches my eye and, before I know it a theme has appeared – one I didn’t necessarily expect.

I have made many vision boards. Most have been with magazine cut outs.  I like paging through the magazines and just waiting for something to jump out at me.  I’ve used tag board and I’ve used sketchbooks – I love being able to create pages with different themes!  The best thing about them is there is no right or wrong way to create one.

When you finish your vision board…what stands out the most for you?  Anything surprise you?  I created one that my intention was to focus on my business but decided to just pick up what stood out to me without thought and when my board was complete, it was all around health and fitness…something I knew I needed to pay attention to but had been ignoring.  I love it when that happens!

I’m intentionally not including an image here…time for you to create…enjoy the process!

Watch for post 2 next Sunday for a little twist…
