“Don’t miss all the beautiful colors of the rainbow looking for that pot of gold.” ~Unknown

I saw the quote above on a post on Tiny Buddha and it made me think about where I’m at in my life.  I so want to enjoy life and all it has to offer and noticing all the beautiful colors is so important to me.

I played all weekend.   I’ve gotten pretty good at this.  An occasional piece of work will cross my path, depending on the week I had behind me or the week coming up but I’m committed to playing and having fun too.  We all need a break and I’ve spent too many years not including this in my life.

I can’t really explain it other than to tell you that I HAVE to play now.  Sometimes the pull is so strong, there’s no way I could resist it even if I tried.  Have you ever felt that pull? I love how “filled up” I feel after I spend time in nature, ride my bike or whatever it is I choose to do.  This weekend I went on two bike rides – both awesome. One of those rides included a picnic lunch and a little fishing.  I spent Sunday on a road trip with the top down.

I won’t include all the images here since I’ve posted them on Facebook already but here’s a few to show you what I’ve been up to.  What have you been doing to fill that well?

I drove the scenic bypass along the St. Croix River. Breathtaking.

I just love this picture of one of the trails we rode on this weekend.

Trying my hand at fishing with a friend. I haven't fished in years...you know the whole "it's wrong to kill" thing BUT I eat fish and if I'm fishing for my dinner, is that wrong? I don't think so. We didn't fish long. The fish weren't interested so we continued on our ride.

Who can you smile at today?
