You might remember the post I made a few months ago entitled Everything I Need to Know I Learned from a Squirrel.   I was reminded of just how determined those crafty little creatures are a few days ago as I watched a couple of them eat the pumpkins on my daughter’s deck.  They were so fun to watch and when I realized that they scaled the outside wall to get to the second story balcony, I was reminded of how persistent they are.  They are willing to do just about anything to get what they want.  The bottom pumpkin had a hole in it and they just about emptied out the inside but the top pumpkin wasn’t carved.  I thought it was but it was just the area they had chewed and picked at as they tried to get at the fantastic contents.  They were almost there.

As I continued to watch, I realized that even though they haven’t gotten to what they might consider the ultimate feast, they sure were having a great time working on the outside of the pumpkin.  They seemed to be enjoying every moment of the process, something we often forget to do.  They enjoyed the outside of the pumpkin, scaling the building back to the ground, climbing a few fences, scavenging the garbage, chasing a few birds, playing with each other, and then they are back again, enjoying the process, enjoying life.

I thought you might enjoy the little video I took to remind myself of the wonders out there and to always enjoy the process because that’s really what it’s all about.
