What Does the Music Say to You?

I may from time to time offer links to products or services on my blog. If you click those links, and make a purchase from them, I might get some money to take a vacation...and, by take a vacation, I mean hop on my bike and hit the open road {trails around my house} or maybe attend a movie if it's been a good month.  Thank you for contributing to my bliss!

no musicThis exercise can be very powerful in unlocking your imagination and getting your creativity flowing.

Music is considered to be very therapeutic. For this activity it is best to find music that is either very relaxing or classical in genre, does not have lyrics, and if possible, one you have not listened to before. Find a quiet place that you will not get disturbed, dim the lights, and relax. As you listen to it ask yourself what is it the music is telling you. Every song can have a story to tell. What does it feel like, smell like, look like? Is it a love story? Is it a story of magnificent triumphant? Let your imagination soar! When the music is complete take out a notebook and jot down the story it told you.

About Michele

Michele Bergh is a teacher, a student and a lover of life. She is a healing artist who enjoys a variety of mediums and also has a few mad techie skills up her sleeves. By day she primarily does WordPress design and development and works with others to create a blissful life. By night, you'll find her behind a camera lens, on her bike, in a big comfy chair, cooking up a storm in her kitchen or sewing while listening to great music (probably from the 70s) on her ipod. Her greatest joy comes from living a orgasmic life by design.

Nice idea. Generally people hears music for entertainment, but did not bothered to know the message it conveys. Thanks for sharing such idea.

Thanks Michel. This sounds like an awesome activity. It would be interesting to have a bunch of people listen to the same piece of music and see if the stories have any common notes!
