Inviting the Senses

Awhile back I was introduced to a creative exercise that invites you to take on a different sense each day to help you become focused and more present.

How it works….

During the course of five days you will take on one of your senses. For example, on day one choose to take on the sense of touch. Feel the sensation you are given by everything that you encounter throughout the day. On day two select a new sense to work with, such as smell and then go out of your way to smell everything you come into contact with.

You can bring this exercise to another level by keeping a notebook with you and taking note of all of the sensations you encounter throughout the five days. It is a great activity to help you develop your presence. By becoming more in tune with your surroundings, you will find your creativity is heightened as well.
