When I was young, my brother and I used to make taffy with my mom. I had completely forgotten about this until recently and it’s definitely a memory I remember fondly. There was a lot of pulling in that process and I remember it feeling like a lot of work but also something fun I got to do with my mom.

I asked her if she remembered doing that the other day and she, of course, did. She also talked about making honey taffy with her mom. It was always honey taffy and she remembered, with a smile, how she’d repeatedly ask her mom if they’d pulled it enough and her mom would say not yet and she’d pull some more.

I don’t remember what kind we made and neglected to ask my mom about that detail but the conversation left me smiling and very curious about honey taffy so I started doing some googling.

I found a few recipes and I’m sharing them here in case you want to try them. It’s on my list to do but I’m thinking it will be a winter activity.
