This summer the hubby and I went to the Tom Petty/Joe Walsh concert.  It was really great.  If you are familiar with our lifestyle, we go to a lot of concerts and this summer had several that we considered to be epic events.  Since many of the artists we go to see are getting up there in age – true classics, we call them – we know that it might be the last time we get to see them either because they decide to stop touring all together or because they die.

This is the first show we’ve seen where an artist actually passed on shortly after seeing them live.  Tom Petty had just wrapped up his tour and had given an interview where he said he was done touring completely.  He had a young grandchild at home and realized how long 3 or 4 months on the road was to someone so little and never wanted to miss that much of their life again.  He said they’d probably still get together and play music but no more touring.

Within a week, he was gone.

This is such a great reminder of the importance of living your life now.  Don’t wait to do something you really want to do.

Here’s a video I hope you’ll enjoy.
