Our member of the month feature is a great opportunity to get to know more about the members of Be Inspired U and show them a little extra love that month by doing little things to make them feel special.

June’s Member of the Month is Amy Putkonen.  Congrats, Amy!  I had Amy tell us a few fun facts about herself…

Amy PutkonenQ: How would your best friend describe you?

Hmm. I suppose I should ask my best friends about that! Hang on… I will go to my little survey that I sent out when I signed up for your Branding course! Mostly they said that I am positive, enthusiastic and spiritual. I guess I can agree with that! I love to laugh. I have heard that people love my laugh.

Q: What is your favorite thing about yourself?

You mean besides my cute butt? Well, I am an adventurist. I love trying new stuff. If what I love is any indication of what is part of me, then I must love a lot because the world is a marvelous place. They say that the thing you admire most in others is a quality that you possess in yourself. I admire integrity, wit, adventure, the willingness to dig deeply into life’s questions.

Q: When do you feel most joyous?

I love Christmas. I know that this may seem a little sentimental, especially considering that I would not even call myself a Christian, but I do love Christmas. I feel joyous at Christmastime because it is a time when people forget themselves and focus on each other. I also feel joyous when I help people or when I totally rock at something. Those things make me very happy. I feel joyous when I am with my peeps, whether it be my husband and daughter, my family or my family of friends. I feel joyous in nature. I feel joyous when I read beautiful things. I feel joyous standing in front of a room teaching people stuff or just plain teaching people stuff any day of the week.

Q: If you have a business, what would you like to tell us about it?

I am at a very exciting time in my “business”. Up until this point, I have been writing this blog with the intention of “someday” having something to sell like books, ecourses, whatever. Recently, I have decided to offer I Ching readings on my website. At first, I was scared to do this because I did not feel that I had been doing it long enough to merit charging someone for a reading. Then I did a few ‘test readings” and they blew me away! I knew then without a shadow of a doubt that I was meant to be doing them! Super fun. My first book is also very close to publishing, so that is another thing I will be able to offer soon. I guess that I would like to tell you that STUFF IS COMING. I would also like to ask you in advance to support me by buying my stuff if you like my work! 🙂 Fun to get freebies and super fun to support the work of people you care about. That is what business is all about, right?

Q: What’s the #1 thing you’d like others to know about you?

The more I write about the Tao Te Ching, the more I learn. I guess the one thing I want people to know about me is that I make mistakes too. I make lots of them. We all do! This is not in a self-bashing kind of admission way. This is in a self-affirming, I am NOT a guru kind of way! I LOVE my mistakes! They make me human. The more I practice my principles of Tao, the better I get at being successful. I am more calm, more loving, more forgiving. But I also make mistakes. I would never want anyone to think that I am above them. We are all sages and we are all jerks.
