A friend and I were chatting recently about a post I read on Facebook, which I blogged about here. The jist of the article was about how “lightworkers” are often the ones bringing the dark. We share thoughts of negativity and angst under the guise of wanting to help…to do good.
AND we can accomplish the same thing without the negative energy around it.
Part of our discussion included our thoughts around protecting ourselves. Many talk about the benefits of surrounding yourself in white light or a big white bubble or putting some sort of shield or cloak on so all the “bad” energy around you can’t get in. But is this really a good idea?
In surrounding yourself with something like I mentioned above, are you living your life with an open heart? Are you allowing yourself to be vulnerable? To connect with others fully?
Are you putting yourself out into the world? Showing up 110%? Sharing yourself with the world?
I’m not so sure you are…
What if, instead, we all lead with our hearts? What if we allow ourselves to be open and, in putting love out, are only able to attract love in?
I’m not saying you’ll never be hurt…truth is, you will. With or without that white bubble, you will get hurt. It’s part of life.
And living with an open heart is the only way to fully experience life in all it’s glory – good and bad. {Click to Tweet}
If you ever saw the move, What the Bleep, you might remember the part about receptors and DNA…where they talk about how what we take in, we have to have receptors to actually be able to take it in. Like keys and locks. So if you spend your entire life eating crappy food, for example, your receptors have been conditioned to take in crappy food and they won’t accept the good food you decide to eat today…until you cut out the crappy food and bring in more and more good food. Over time, the receptors will adapt to the new food and begin receiving it fully. The same thing happens with emotions and energy. If your receptors are used to you being around positive energy or experiencing positive emotions, they may not even notice when something negative creeps in (cuz you know it will).
Of course, change doesn’t happen over night and the more we are willing to focus on positive energy, the more we will attract it.
Living with an open heart and sending out love into the world will support us more in life than putting up a shield any day.
