Greetings!
September is always a month that many focus on going back to school. We are sending our children off, perhaps for the first time to Kindergarten. Maybe off to college. You might even be returning to school yourself. Really, life is just one big school. I find opportunities at every corner to to learn and grow, even when I feel like I’ve had enough for a while and just want to relax. Do you ever feel that way? When push comes to shove, I am grateful for the opportunities to learn. Read below for the big lesson I learned and integrated this month.
Quote of the Month
“Experience: that most brutal of teachers. But you learn, my God do you learn.” CS Lewis
Life Lesson for September
One area of my business has not been flowing as well as I’d like it to. While I love the system I was working with and the person I was working with, the turnaround time has not been quick enough for me to feel confident in my ability to get my work done in a timely fashion and give my clients the service I want to give them. I kept thinking, “If I just do this or that, maybe it will get better.” No matter what I did, it didn’t seem to make a difference.
I knew it was probably time for a change but just couldn’t seem to figure out what to do. A good friend helped me figure it out and now I am on the right track and in full control of how and when things get done. While there is something a little scary about this, I know it is where I need to be.
Bottom line, here is what I learned:
1. It is best to be responsible for me 100%.
2. When things aren’t flowing, stop fighting it and make a change.
3. We cannot make decisions in life based on feeling bad or not wanting to hurt someone’s feelings or because we really like someone. Sometimes, we just need to do what we need to do for ourselves.
What will you do, just for you, today?
