10 Questions: What Makes You Tick?

Be all you can be…in life…not necessarily just in the Army.  I aspire for something deeper and more meaningful.

When we are kids, we strive to achieve whatever we put our minds to.  We believe that anything is possible.  We dream of being doctors, lawyers, astronauts and firemen.  We begin to grow older and, for whatever reason, abandon many of those dreams, not to move on to something better but to live status quo.  I think it was Donald Trump who was quoted as saying the biggest problem in America is people being content with the status quo.

I know that status quo is not enough for me.  There’s something about “settling” for a life that just gets me by that makes me feel like a bit of me is dying every day.  I want more.  I want to be happy.  I want to be fulfilled.  I want to be living with a purpose.

I want that for you too!  So here are 1o questions to empower you to live a life…full of satisfaction and inspiration…

1. What do you really want?
The question of the ages. So many things you want to do with your life and so little time to even go about during the day.  So what’s really important?  What can you do every day to bring more of this in your life?

2. Should you really change?
Do you feel like your life has purpose?  Are you happy with where things are at or are you ready for a change?  Is what you are doing working for you?

3. What’s the bright side in all of this?
With so much is happening around us there seem to be no room for even considering that light at the end of the tunnel. We can still see it as something positive without undergoing so much scrutiny. And if it’s a train at the end of the tunnel, take it for a ride and see what makes the world go round!

4. Are you comfortable with what you are doing?
And by this I really mean, “Are you TOO comfortable?”  Where can you take some risks today to grow and expand?

5. Have you done enough for yourself?
Have you?  Or is there something more you want to do? Discontentment in every aspect can be dangerous in large doses, but in small amounts you’ll be able to see and do stuff you could never imagine doing.

6. Are you happy with where you are today?
Are there areas that need improvement?  Areas that are really good AND you could still raise the bar?

7.Are you taking care of yourself?
I don’t like having my picture taken.  I’m not really happy with where I’m at right now and where I’ve been for too long so I always joke and ask the photographer if they are using their thin and thirty lens.  But I also know, it isn’t just about being fit…it’s about feeling comfortable in your skin.  When is the last time you had a nice haircut?  Got a new shirt?  Ate a really healthy meal?  Moved a little?

8. How much could you have?
And what are you willing to do to get it?  What can you do to get closer to your goals today?

9. What motivates you?
We are all so different when it comes to motivation.  Do you know what motivates you?  If not, pay attention and let’s see if we can figure it out.

10. What Really Makes You Tick?
So? What really makes you tick? You can be just about anything you always wanted to be, but to realize that attaining something that may seem very difficult is already giving up before you even start that journey.
